Much and Many

 

گهڻو يا گهڻي جو مطلب اهي   Much ء Many

جو استعمال تڏهن ٿيندو جڏهن شيون ڳڻي ڪونه سگهبيون اهن Much

 مثال جي طور تي: پاڻي، چانور يا پيسا وغيره،

(پيسن ۾ ب روپيا يا ڊالر ڳڻي سگهبا اهن پر پيسا ڳڻي ڪونه سگهبا اهن)

مثال جي طور تي: ڊالر، ڪتاب يا ڪرسيون وغيره،

 

 

Basic Rule

 

Both "much" and "many" mean "a lot of" – but they are used with different types of nouns:

Much: Uncountable nouns

things you can't count one by one

I don't have much money.

Many: Countable nouns

things you can count

She has many books

 

Examples of Countable vs Uncountable Nouns

water, sugar, information, money

 

Examples in Sentences

 

Using "Many" (Countable)

  • How many students are in the class?
  • He doesn’t have many friends.
  • There are many problems to solve.

Using "Much" (Uncountable)

  • How much time do we have?
  • I didn’t eat much rice.
  • There isn’t much information available.

Normally use "a lot of"

In positive sentences, native speakers often use "a lot of" instead of "much/many":

  • I have a lot of friends. (better than "I have many friends")
  • She has a lot of time. (better than "She has much time")

 

Quick Tips

  • Use many with plural: books, cars, people
  • Use much with singular uncountable: milk, money, advice
  • In positive sentences, prefer a lot of for natural tone
